Taiwan’s Institute for InformatTaiwan’s government think tank III (Institute for Information Institute) recently announced that it has participated in a 5G industry ecosystem led by Taiwan’s leading telecom operator Chunghwa Telecom, the Economic Times reported on April 24. III already joined a national-level 5G alliance alongside with Chunghwa Telecom, ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute), and 5G Office of DoIT (Department of Industrial Technology), MoEA (Ministry of Economic Affairs) in January 2019. The alliance endeavors to jointly establish an end-to-end 5G industry ecosystem, promote Taiwan’s 5G development, and create Taiwan’s competitive edge. There were about 50 institutes and enterprises from both industry, government, academia, and research sectors attending the event held by Chunghwa Telecom on April 23 through which they got the chance to demonstrate their 5G solutions such as ICs, millimeter-wave antennas, handheld devices, smart glasses, small base stations, edge computing, 8K+5G solutions, security solutions, and cloud service platforms, with an aim to from a complete end-to-end 5G industry chain.
